Hello!
Things are going well here in the 9000 (aka Aalborg). Petri the baby seagull is doing well. He is learning how to fly!! I feel like a proud mother! It is true, once you name it, you start to get attached to it.
Rune updates. He is still on track for getting baptized! I am so excited for him! This is a step in his life that he won't regret. Good things are coming! Keep him in your prayers. The date is the 22nd. WOOHOO!!!
Here is a fun story! Sister Petersen and I were looking for 4-leaf clovers after dedicating our area (and we found 5 HUGE ONES), and they do in fact bring good luck. So we picked them and started walking over to where we had seen some cute baby ducks, and then there was a guy there that started chatting with us. So we talked to this guy and his cute dog. After a little chatting back and forth, the guy said, 'I just live up the road. Do you want to come over for some tea (herbal tea of course) and a gospel discussion?' So we went and had a great talk with him and he said we were welcome anytime! Woohoo! Yay for four leaf clovers!
Right after that happened, we biked past some old people that Sister Petersen did service for a couple months ago, and so we stopped by to say hi and they were home and gave us a bouquet of flowers and some cucumbers. That is actually the second time in the last couple of weeks that we have received the gift of flowers and two cucumbers.... so. Apparently thats a thing now?
Then we were in Copenhagen for MLC (Mission Leadership Council). It is always fun to be with President and Sister O'Bryant! We had a great time and this transfer is going to be awesome! I can't wait for all the cool new things we are going to learn/teach.
Here's a thought from Elder D Todd Christofferson about missionary work. He said, 'The work of our missionaries is a magnificent expression of the Savior's redeeming love.'
There a lot of really good reasons to serve a mission. Because serving is fun; because you will meet new people; because you will come closer to God and Jesus Christ; because going to college is stressful because it is commandment; etc. But the ultimate reason should be to bring the love of the Savior to everyone. We are all children of God and Christ's atonement covers even them who think they don't believe. Christ loves them and it is our job to show them the truth and to bring the love and the light of the savior to them, their homes and family. This is our responsibility, whether we have the badge or not. Jesus loves us! I've also really seen this week that when we develop that Christlike love for people, it is the greatest motivation to serve. When we genuinely love the people around us, the Spirit will help us to know how we can help them - and as we help and serve those around us, we will come to know and love ourselves the way that Heavenly Father and Christ know and love us. It really is an incredible power - pray for charity and you will never go wrong.
Well, I love you all alot! I hope you have a great week!! Keep praying for Rune PLEASE!!!
Talk to you next week!!
