Hello Everyone!
Today we meandered through a forest and a deer tried to eat my elbow. He thought it was a carrot, apparently. Drunk person moment of the week: this morning there was a guy with a guitar on the bus just playing (really well, might I add) and singing and loving life. And I thought to myself that I wish we all took time to enjoy the little things like that guy was doing. Anyway!
This week has been exciting, because we are preparing for Elder Andersen of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles to come to the mission. We dedicated a good chunk of time to finding and came up with a new way that we though worked rather well.... We decided to try our faith by doing different methods to help us find. We decided that we were going to choose 2 names, and would knock on doors and apartments with those names on it until we found someone that was positive. We decided that the first 2 names would be Jorn and Nielsen. The next house that we walked past had the last name Nielsen, so naturally we went up to knock it. However, we had to go through a bunch of trees and stairs and on an adventure just trying to find the house. At one point, the path split in half, and we had no idea which way to go, but then we saw it...... a beautiful white arrow that just said 'NIELSEN' on it. I kid you not. It was like a sign from heaven. So then we knocked on the door and there was a creepy but really cute little dog that we sat and looked at for a while, but no one answered. We took our sweet time meandering out of the yard and also stopped to take a picture of the sign.... and right as we came out to the street, he came home. If that weird little dog hadn't been there, if we hadn't like his flowers so much, if we hadn't wanted a picture, we wouldn't have met him. Also, he is a pilot and it is VERY unusual for him to be home on a Wednesday in the middle of the day, so that in of itself was a miracle. We stopped and talked for a while, he accepted a Book of Mormon, and told us that we could come back. Then we chose the name Rasmus. We walked for a while, found a house with a child named Rasmus, and knocked. 18 year old boy answered (turned out he was Rasmus), accepted a Book of Mormon and also told us that we could come by again. The next day, we chose the name Anna. We found an old lady that really really needed some love, and I firmly believe that God led us to her just to be the touch of His hand that she needed that day. I can honestly say that I do not understand how God works through us, but this week, there is no doubt in my mind that He DOES and WILL work through us if we just do our part. Let him work in your lives, people! He IS there, He DOES love you, and He desperately wants to guide you. Let him!
I love and miss you all, and am excited to tell you all about our conference with Elder Andersen. Be happy, be safe, and remember to smile!
Love, Sister Ludlow
